My ever-longing tastebuds were crying out loud for some authentic Chinese food , so I tagged along with a comrade to a nearby restaurant going by the name 'Mainland China'. After a small argument with the rickshaw-driver who was trying to make a few extra quick bucks from who he thought were gullible commuters & exclaimed 'Madam, परेशांन कर दिया' ( you troubled me). Anyway, after the usual conversation about how the whole world is out to cheat us, we entered
& our mood was lifted up by the courteous staff who warmly welcomed us.
The following are the items that we hogged on like those under-nourished African children:& our mood was lifted up by the courteous staff who warmly welcomed us.
1.Kimchi(cabbage salad with some tangy sauce) & cucumber salad - the kimchi was decent & made for good pre-appetiser.
2.Broccoli,mushroom, corn thick soup- soups are known to build up an appetite- this one did its job.
3.Cheung Fun- the dish of the day- an appetizer- it consisted of mushrooms wrapped in rice-flour wraps.- this one failed to live up our expectations, the non-vegetarian look & flavourless roll was not much 'Fun'.
4.Golden garlic rice with coriander- This was the usual fare, decent , not too garlic-y.
5.Water chestnut & corn cooked in brown gravy- medium-spicy & complemented the rice dish.
All in all it was a nice meal & would rate it
