Priest comes knocking

I was all alone at home when suddenly a temple priest garbed in tailored trousers & crisp white shirt(different from his only white-dhoti attire) from my dad's village along with his pesky son decided to pay a visit unannounced, as he was in town. After a 2-minute conversation about my education, there was a long pause.......I was stumped & fell short of words, after all how does one
chat with a 40-year old gods-man? So I escaped to the kitchen with an excuse of fixing some snacks for him, as a custom of my house noone, let alone a man with ''close connections with the sumpreme power'', is allowed to leave without being fed. After 5-minutes of indecisiveness I decide to serve him lemonade with some crunchy potato chips for accompaniment(as embarssing myself & my family by cooking something horrible was not something I looked forward to). As I served the fare his 6-something year old cranky son stared at me  with is big black eyes, between his wails & later between stuffing his mouth with chips. The awkward silence continued as I watched them eat, with nothing else to do...
Then after few futile attempts of making some sort of decent conversation & monosyllabic replies by me which went nowhere ,he thankfully exclaimed how time had past quickly(not really, it seemed like a year!) & he would have to leave. That was the end of an awkard social situation...
